Agency Report

As a way of further motivating the Super Eagles ahead of the forthcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) ensured that each member of the team was paid $9,000 being the appearance fees for the World Cup warm-up matches against DR Congo, England, and Czech Republic.

A source at the NFF secretariat told The Authority Sports that each of the matches in question attracted $3,000 as fee for each player.

“The appearance fees for the last three international friendlies have been paid to the players as they prepare to fly to Russia for the World Cup. The NFF believes that this is another way of motivating the boys and making them happy and ready to face the task ahead.”

Our source further revealed that team captain; Mikel Obi who responded on behalf of his mates said they were happy with the approach the NFF has brought in preparing the team for the mundial. He promised that the players will replicate this by ensuring that Nigeria qualifies from the Group B.
