The Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), has charged South African government to do its best and expose those behind the alleged murder of Mrs Elizabeth Ndubuisi-Chukwu, the Deputy Director-General of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria in South Africa.
Mr Gabriel Odu, the Media Assistant, NIDCOM, in a statement in Abuja on Monday, condemned the act saying that this is a death that cannot be swept under the carpet.
He said that the Chairman of NIDCOM, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa had called on South African authorities to rise up to their responsibilities and ensure that those behind the act were brought to book.
“I am very confident of the determination of the Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria and the Consulate-General in Johannesburg to resolve the situation,” Dabiri-Erewa said.
She extended her heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased on behalf of the government and people of Nigeria .
Ndubuisi-Chukwwu was in South Africa to attend the Conference of the African Insurance Organisation (AIO).
She was reportedly found dead in her room at Emperor’s Palace Casino Hotel and Convention Centre, Johannesburg on June 13.
