Niger State Police Arrests Bandits, Recover Firearm

The Police in Niger State have arrested suspected bandits terrorizing the community while at the same time recovered firearms from the criminals.

Spokesman of the Command, Wasiu Abiodun, said, “On 18/08/2020 at about 1200hrs, acting on a tip off, the Police Operatives attached to Shiroro division arrested one Samaila Jagaba aged 46yrs ‘m’ of Kuduru village Chukun LGA Kaduna State with the sum of Two hundred thousand naira in an attempt to offer the money to the Police as gratification to secure the release of a suspected bandit one Bala Bako aged 35yrs ‘m’ of Gurkuchi village Chukun LGA of Kaduna State earlier arrested with a locally made pistol and one live cartridge on 15/08/2020 while on surveillance in Kwata market, Zumba village Shiroro LGA.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to have bought the pistol from an unidentified person in Wukoko village Chukun LGA Kaduna State.

Abiodun said the case is under investigation and suspects will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is concluded.
