The Nigeria Customs Service bid farewell to Deputy Comptroller-General Dera Nnadi (Rtd) during a colourful ceremony at its Abuja headquarters on 3 March 2026, coinciding with his 60th birthday. The event gathered NCS management, senior officers, family, and well-wishers to honour his decades of dedicated service in revenue generation, trade facilitation, and border security.

Comptroller-General Adewale Adeniyi led tributes, praising Nnadi’s professionalism, discipline, and leadership that bolstered NCS values and operations. He highlighted their personal and family ties, expressing confidence in Nnadi’s continued contributions through academia and professional roles post-retirement.

Management team members and officers lauded his integrity, mentorship, and capacity-building efforts, calling him a dependable guide for younger personnel. Nnadi responded gratefully, describing his NCS journey as fulfilling growth in national service.

The ceremony included awards, gifts, and commemorative photos, reflecting appreciation for his sacrifices and the ideals he embodied.
