Nigeria LNG has reached significant levels in its cargo delivery and business operations owing to improved operational performance of some indigenous oil firms.

In particular is the Company’s mentioning of Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited for playing a pivotal role in boosting its operational performance.

According to the gas company, Renaissance Energy, an indigenous firm has firmly helped it increase plant utilisation from about 50 per cent to 82 per cent and enabling the company to deliver 31 cargoes above its business plan.

The acknowledgment came during a courtesy visit by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NLNG, Adeleye Falade, to Renaissance headquarters in Port Harcourt, where both organisations reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration across Nigeria’s gas value chain.

Falade said, “Two years ago, we were punching below our weight. Our operations were running at about 50 percent utilisation. We have six trains but were effectively utilising only four. Today, we are operating at about 82 percent utilisation, and that improvement is due in no small measure to the heavy lifting being done by Renaissance.

“We are currently delivering 31 cargoes above our business plan and I am pleased to say that the difference is Renaissance. I’m therefore here on behalf of NLNG to express our gratitude for the commitment, professionalism, and operational excellence we continue to receive from the Renaissance team.”

The visit underscored the critical role Renaissance continues to play in ensuring reliable gas supply to NLNG, supporting improved operational performance and reinforcing Nigeria’s position as a major player in the global LNG market.

Welcoming the NLNG delegation, Renaissance Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Tony Attah, said the improved performance demonstrates the value of partnership across the energy industry and the importance of unlocking the nation’s vast gas resources for sustainable development.

“Nothing could be more pleasing than welcoming Adeleye Falade to Renaissance today. The conversations we have had are both timely and important, Attah said, adding: “At Renaissance, everything rises and falls on our vision: to be Africa’s foremost energy company, enabling energy security and industrialisation through sustainable practices for people and the planet.

Attah said, “It is the same sense of purpose that drives the efforts being made across our industry to make more gas available for domestic use. Export gas alone will not industrialise Nigeria. What will transform our economy is the productive utilisation of gas within Nigeria.

“We do not have a resource challenge. We have a development challenge. That is why the sustainability initiatives we are pursuing and the investments we continue to make are so important to us.”

Attah noted that Renaissance’s culture is anchored on its core values of C.R.I.S.P. – Collaboration, Respect, Integrity, Safety and Performance – emphasising that collaboration remains essential to creating value for stakeholders and advancing Nigeria’s energy ambitions.

“Collaboration is a huge part of who we are. We have deliberately made Safety one of our core values because we mean it. It reflects the importance we attach to protecting our people, our assets, our communities, and the environment,” he added.

Both organisations agreed to explore a structured partnership framework aimed at deepening cooperation in areas including gas supply optimisation, technical capability development, safety leadership, knowledge sharing, staff exchange programmes, resource sharing, and stakeholder engagement.

According to Attah, the proposed framework will provide a foundation for closer collaboration and enhanced performance across both organisations.

He said, “We will work together to identify the ultimate partnership model between Renaissance and NLNG. There are significant opportunities for both organisations, and we will be documenting these opportunities and developing a partnership framework around them.

“Our aspiration is to conclude this process and sign the framework during the first quarter of next year, creating a platform that enables both organisations to win together while contributing even more meaningfully to Nigeria’s energy future.”

The meeting highlighted the strong strategic alignment between Renaissance and NLNG and reinforced their shared commitment to increasing gas availability, strengthening Nigeria’s gas value chain, supporting industrial growth, and delivering sustainable value for the nation and its people
