Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, on Thursday, November 26, has advised why President Muhammadu Buhari to listen to the request made by some Nigerians to restructure the country.
Wike made this disclosure during an interview on Channels Television.
According to the Governor, President Buhari risked “setting the country on fire;” if he does not attend to the request.
He also noted that it will be very bad for Nigeria and its leadership; if none of the demands are met before the tenure of President Buhari expires.
Wike advised the President to show good leadership by listening to the demands of the people.
The Governor pointed that political leadership is very key; and also having the political will to implement the demands of the people is very important.
“I am not a pessimist. I don’t believe that because you didn’t do what you agreed to do yesterday, therefore, you will not do what you agree to do today.
“Even if he (Buhari) has not done what he told Nigerians he would do, he can say, look, I promised Nigerians yesterday, I didn’t do that and that is affecting my integrity and so, for people who know me, I will implement what I have said,” Wike explained.
