Nigeria Police Puff Adder Squad Arrests 93 Suspected Kidnappers

The Inspector-General of Police Puff Adder Squad, has arrested no fewer than 93 suspected kidnappers.

The suspects were  rounded up in a well coordinated operations that lasted a week, by the squad.

Puff Adder swung into action in various operations carried out in North – Central, North – East and North – West zones of Nigeria and succeeded in nabbing the suspects in their various hides – out.

The squad recovered from the suspects, a rocket launcher, 35 AK- 47 riffles, 10 locally made AK- 47, 500 live ammunitions, 8 locally made revolver pistols, 10 military camouflage uniform, 2 operational vehicles and other  items.

The Force spokesman DCP Frank Mba, stated that the IG Squad was founded to put into reality and fulfilment the IG’S promise of stepping out criminality in the country at least to the barest minimum.

“A synergy between various  crack police units such Intelligence Response Squad, IRT, Special Anti – Robbery Squad, SARS, Special Tactical Squad, STS, Police Mobile Force, PMF,  Counter Terrorism Unit, CTU, Special Forces and Special Protection Unit, SPU led to the clamp down on the suspects”, Mba said.

He added that operatives of the Forensic and Technical Intelligence Units, TIU, have been ordered by IGP Adamu to investigate the suspects in order to find out their sources of weapons, their collaborators and their modus operandi.
