The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Governing Board has approved the promotion of 243 employees across various levels.

This includes nine Deputy Directors elevated to Directors, 30 Assistant Directors promoted to Deputy Directors, 35 Chiefs advanced to Assistant Directors, and 169 other staff members moving up by one grade level.

Among the newly appointed Directors are key figures such as Mrs. Moji Jimoh, Coordinator of the Abuja Liaison Office; Dr. Odunayo Ani, Director of Internal Audit; Mrs. Nneka Obianyor, Special Adviser to the Director General; and Mrs. Biodun Fatade, Director of Procurement, alongside other notable appointees.

In congratulating the promoted staff, NIMASA’s Director General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, reiterated the agency’s unwavering commitment to a transparent, merit-based career progression system and enhanced staff welfare. He urged the promoted employees to renew their dedication to excellence and productivity in service delivery.

“Our administration prioritizes improved staff welfare. This promotion exercise is strictly merit-based, and we expect staff to reciprocate by rededicating themselves to higher productivity. We will continue to focus on staff welfare, relying on your commitment to the values and mandate of the Agency,” Dr. Mobereola affirmed.

The promotion is seen as a boost to staff morale and a clear indication of NIMASA’s focus on empowering its workforce to drive the agency’s ongoing mission in maritime administration and safety.
