As the countdown to the 10th edition of the Annual Conference of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) continues, corporate organisations, Federal Government agencies and other stakeholders have given their support to ensure the successful hosting of the event.
This year’s conference, which is themed “2027 Elections: Trust, Transparency and Shared Responsibilities,” will bring together heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies, policymakers, academics, civil society representatives, security stakeholders and other professionals to examine issues surrounding public confidence, responsible journalism and Nigeria’s electoral process.
Leading the pack of sponsors are the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), the Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), Nigeria Customs Service, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), and the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC). GOCOP said the continued support of its sponsors and partners demonstrates the growing importance of collaboration between the Guild, public institutions and the private sector in promoting good governance, the development and stability of the nation.
GOCOP noted that sponsorship of the annual conference provides an important platform for organisations to engage directly with critical stakeholders in government, editors, media entrepreneurs, while contributing to conversations on issues of national importance.
The 2026 conference will feature INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, SAN, as keynote speaker, while Dr. Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, will chair the event. The panel will feature CP Abayomi Shogunle, Prof. Tayo Popoola, Adaora Onyechere Sydney-Jack and Lanre Arogundade.
GOCOP Deputy President and chairman of the Conference Planning Committee, Olumide Iyanda, said the Guild is grateful to all organisations that have identified with its mission and supported its activities.
“We sincerely appreciate our sponsors and partners for their confidence in GOCOP and for recognising the importance of supporting credible conversations around Nigeria’s media industry, democracy and national development. Their contributions are an important part of making this year’s conference possible”, he said.
He added that the Guild welcomes additional partnerships from organisations interested in supporting professional online publishing, responsible journalism and constructive national dialogue.
