The Director of Skills Acquisition Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Department NYSC NDHQ Abuja, Mrs. Nwatarali Ngozi Dorathy has appealed to Ekiti Corps members to tap into the vast Opportunity SAED is bringing to their doorstep.
She stated this during her opening address to the corps members posted to Ekiti at the SAED opening ceremony held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ise-Orun/Emure Ekiti State.
The Director who was ably represented by the NYSC Ekiti State Coordinator, Mrs. Mary Nenna Chikezie during the opening ceremony of SAED training at the NYSC Ekiti camp also revealed that the department would be financing corps members business proposal and related entrepreneurial aspirations through sponsorships from Unity bank, Access bank and Bank of Industry etc
According to her, the sponsorship will be coming after corps members must have enrolled for a skill in camp and actively participate in SAED post camp training.
She said: “corps members have already taken advantage of the NYSC/Bank of Industry Graduate Entrepreneurship Fund (GEF) through expert guidance in the writing and funding of bankable business proposals. Hundreds of Corps members have already benefited from the GEF Scheme. These opportunities will be available to you through participation in SAED activities.”
Also, the Director made it known that that there is a growing rate of unemployment among Nigeria graduates especially as a sizeable number of graduates have no skills. Hence, SAED seeks to close this gap by building capacity of corps members to gain the required skills that beats the challenges of unemployment.
Similarly, Head of SAED in the camp, Mr Olaoye T.J stressed that full participation in SAED guarantees financial freedom for corp members.
“If the education you received can not make you independent or become free from white collar job then you need SAED training”. He said.
He, however, appealed to the corp members to take charge of the advantages of the training. As the trainer will be available to deliver. Says NYSC Director SAED
