In a press statement issued in Lagos, Onitiri said the ruling party should not use the Osun template to rig elections in these states as it may cause mayhem, conflagration and rioting.
“I wish to implore all patriotic Nigerians and lovers of Democracy including the international community to prevail on PMB to let the votes of the people count for once and let sleeping dogs lie. We cannot afford another civil war in this country.
“In this coming ‘re run governorship election please don’t use “the compromised “
(INEC officials and the overzealous military to rig the Governorship elections. This country belongs to us all and we have no other country we can call our own”, Onitiri said.
According to Onitiri, Nigeria is presently sitting on a time bomb. Any attempt to further rig the elections May set the country on wild fire that may consume all of us. At the moment the Boko Haram , Herdsmen insurgencies are more than enough problems for our military. “We cannot afford to add more.
