The downstream petroleum, gas, and energy value chain will converge in Lagos during the 19th edition of the OTL Africa Downstream Energy Week, Africa’s foremost business event for the downstream sector.

Organised in collaboration with the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and other strategic partners, OTL Africa Downstream Energy Week—popularly known as OTL Africa Downstream—serves as the continent’s leading platform for thought leadership, investment, and innovation across the petroleum value chain.

The event is scheduled to hold from October 26 to 31, 2025.

This year’s edition, themed “Energy Sustainability – Growth Beyond Boundaries and Competition,” will take place at the Lagos Oriental Hotel. It promises to deliver high-level engagements and discussions reflecting the rapidly evolving downstream petroleum landscape, which is witnessing heightened competition and strategic repositioning.

According to Joyce Akabogu, Chief Executive Officer of OTL Downstream Development in Africa the 2025 edition is designed to foster collaboration and chart the course for a sustainable and competitive energy future for the continent.

“OTL Africa Downstream has, for nearly two decades, served as a reference point for shaping policy direction, promoting investment, and enhancing operational excellence in Africa’s downstream energy market,” Akabogu said.

This year’s conference will feature ministerial and regulator panels involving four West African countries, focusing on cross-border collaboration and harmonisation of regional energy policies. Over 50 speakers—including industry leaders, policymakers, financiers, and innovators—are expected to share insights on market trends, technology, finance, strategic investment, and corporate realignment.

In addition to the main conference, delegates will experience the OTL Trade Exhibition, where leading global and regional energy brands will showcase cutting-edge innovations, products, and services across the oil refining, petroleum trading, shipping, tank storage, logistics, marketing, and retail sectors. Other focus areas include LPG, lubricants, petrochemicals, power, financial services, and policy.

A key highlight of the 2025 edition is the technical tour to major production hubs, including the Dangote Refinery Complex, offering participants a first-hand experience of Africa’s largest industrial project.

The weeklong event will also feature networking sessions, business receptions, and social activities designed to provide international and local delegates a rich and memorable experience of Lagos—the heart of Nigeria’s energy and business scene.

Since its inception 18 years ago, OTL Africa Downstream Energy Week has established itself as the continent’s premier platform for promoting growth, competition, and sustainability within the energy value chain.
