The Lagos State Government will Friday shut the Oworonshoki-bound lane of the Third Mainland Bridge.
It will be closed totally to vehicular movement by midnight on Saturday, February 6 till 7 pm on Sunday, February 7.
The closure is to remove the last expansion joint on the Oworonshoki bound lane of the Third Mainland Bridge.
This was disclosed in a statement released by the Lagos Ministry of Transportation.
The statement revealed that the closure is vital to enable the contractor to move its equipment to the Oworonshoki bound lane; within the given period without any interruption.
Commissioner for Transportation, Frederic Oladeinde, stated that the rehabilitation process was being done assiduously to ensure set deadlines were met.
Motorists from Ogudu, Alapere, and Gbagada were advised to use Ikorodu Road, Jibowu; as well as Yaba as alternative routes from the Third Mainland Bridge, while Iyana Oworosoki-bound traffic from the Lagos Island; Iddo, Oyingbo, Adekunle and Yaba should use Herbert Macaulay Way, Jibowu and Ikorodu road as alternative routes.
