Oxygen X, a leading digital lending company committed to empowering people and businesses to thrive, has taken its impact beyond financial solutions by leading an environmental sustainability effort in Lagos.

The Oxygen X team, in partnership with the JOMO Climate Change Initiative, executed a cleanup and advocacy drive at Ketu Market, Lagos on the 3rd of September,2025. The initiative was fully sponsored by Oxygen X and engaged key community stakeholders, including the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and the Ketu Market Leader (Baba Oloja).

The market cleanup initiative directly reached over 7,000 people in the community on the day of the exercise. Through sensitisation and advocacy efforts, traders and residents were encouraged to adopt proper waste disposal practices and embrace sustainable habits that contribute to a healthier environment.

“At Oxygen X, we believe that real change starts with action,” said Dan Watts, Chief Risk Officer, Oxygen X. “This initiative reflects not just our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility but our values as a business that thrives on purpose. We are investing in a cleaner, healthier planet because we understand that sustainability is central to building thriving communities.”

The activity was a demonstration of Oxygen X’s long-term investment in sustainability and environmental responsibility. Oxygen X continues to power people and businesses to thrive, not just survive, with initiatives that go beyond financial empowerment to touch critical aspects of community development and sustainability
