Acting Customs Area Controller DC Wale Moses Adewole led Oyo/Osun Area Command’s management team on courtesy visits to British American Tobacco Nigeria (BATN) and the Alaafin of Oyo on 5 March 2026 to boost revenue and anti-smuggling efforts.
At BATN, Director of Operations Mr. Hasnain Ishtiaq warmly received the delegation. Adewole praised the company’s major excise duty contributions and compliance, calling it a key partner in legitimate trade and revenue generation. Ishtiaq reciprocated, commending NCS’s border protection and trade facilitation, and pledged full regulatory compliance for economic growth.
Later, Adewole visited His Imperial Majesty Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade at the palace, recognizing the Alaafin’s role as Yoruba cultural custodian. He appealed for community sensitization against smuggling’s economic harm. The monarch praised NCS’s revenue and anti-smuggling work, assuring palace support to promote lawful activities.
These engagements highlight the Command’s strategy to partner with businesses, traditional leaders, and communities for stronger revenue, trade facilitation, and national prosperity
