PFN Lagos Celebrates One Year Of Outstanding Leadership With A Focus On People’s Transformation

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Lagos State Chapter, has marked one year of exemplary leadership by intensifying its commitment to promoting personal transformation aimed at fostering national development and spiritual growth among its members and the wider community.

The milestone was celebrated with a series of events launched on Tuesday in Lagos, including a leadership conference to reflect on the achievements of the executive committee over the past year and to chart a strategic path for future projects. The festivities will conclude with a special thanksgiving service scheduled for Sunday at the Global Impact Church, Lagos.

As the umbrella organization overseeing Pentecostal churches across Lagos State and operating under the national PFN body, the Lagos Chapter has made remarkable progress in enhancing its social and spiritual impact within the state.

Speaking during a leadership workshop held on Wednesday, the Vice Chairman of PFN Lagos, Rev. Janet Onolapo, described the past year’s leadership as divinely inspired and highly effective. She emphasized that the revitalized Central Working Committee, coupled with dynamic provincial leadership, has significantly raised the chapter’s visibility and strengthened its influence on the lives of congregants and communities.

“Under this leadership, the chapter has not only been spiritually vibrant but also socially active,” Rev. Onolapo said. “We have prioritized capacity-building, organizing extensive training sessions and workshops for our workers to improve service delivery and deepen our societal impact.”

Over the last 12 months, PFN Lagos has launched several humanitarian initiatives focusing on vulnerable groups. These include compassionate outreach to displaced persons, comprehensive sanitation efforts in various communities, and the provision of free medical care to indigent individuals. These projects underscore the chapter’s serious commitment to addressing social challenges while fulfilling its spiritual mission.

Echoing this sentiment, PFN Alimosho Province Chairman, Rev. Iyke Ejiaku, highlighted the correlation between the fellowship’s proactive social interventions and the relative peace currently being enjoyed across Lagos State. He urged Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to join forces with government agencies to initiate projects that benefit the public and cultivate a stronger sense of belonging among citizens.

“Rehabilitation of street urchins has been one of our key focuses. We envision transforming these vulnerable youths into responsible members of society through targeted interventions,” Rev. Ejiaku said.

The growing influence of PFN Lagos has not gone unnoticed. The fellowship was recently granted the esteemed role of election observers during the Lagos State Local Council elections, a recognition that underscores its active engagement and credibility in civic matters.

In a press conference held to officially announce the anniversary celebrations, PFN Lagos Chapter Chairman, Rev. Yemi Davids, revealed that the fellowship is undergoing a thoughtful review of its sermon content and religious teachings. The goal is to embed transformative principles that will help combat systemic corruption and engender a renewed sense of patriotism among Nigerians.

“Since our new leadership took office, one of our key accomplishments has been a deliberate shift in our preaching towards national reorientation, moral rebirth, and strong anti-corruption messages,” Rev. Davids explained. “We believe that when these messages are internalized, they will lead to meaningful change in individuals and the nation at large.”

As PFN Lagos enters its second year under the current administration, its leadership remains resolute in continuing the drive for both spiritual renewal and social transformation. The chapter’s blueprint for the future includes expanding its humanitarian programs, deepening community engagement, and strengthening interfaith cooperation to foster peace and development across Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.
