Police Arrests, Seizes Illegally Imported Arms, Ammunition

Nigeria Police spokesman deputy commissioner of police, DCP, Frank Mba has confirmed arrests and seizure of large stock of arms and ammunition by operation PUFF adder.

The illegal arms dealers allegedly smuggled thousands of riffles and ammunition into Nigeria from Libya and Burkina Faso through Benin Republic and Niger Republic.

Recovery made include, 6000 Rounds of Ak47 Ammunition and Several Ak47 Rifles and Pistols.

Held suspects the police said have confessed to Importing and selling of riffles and ammunition to kidnappers, armed robbers and other criminal elements in Nigeria. 

Also 38 Kidnappers and armed robbers arrested by IGP-IRT and IGP-STS were paraded before the media in Abuja.
