The Kaduna State Police Command has said that three men now in its custody are suspected to have largely participated in the mass kidnapping of 121 female students from the Bethel Baptist School in the State.
The bandits had attacked the Bethel Baptist School on Monday, July 5, 2021; after storming the school early Monday, around 2 am. and took away the students.
Confirming this spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, Mohammed Jalige on Friday disclosed that one of the arrested suspects watched the campus to determine the best time for the attack; which was carried out by the other members of the gang, armed with assault rifles. Further, he stated that a search of the homes of the suspects uncovered a cache of automatic rifles.
The suspects in their statements said the purpose of the kidnapping was to demand cash ransom.
Jalige revealed that further investigations are ongoing to arrest other members of the gang; and that the suspects would be charged to court after conclusion of investigations.
