A former gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, Babatunde Gbadamosi, has been detained by the Lagos State Police Command; for allegedly contravening lockdown order of the State Government to curtail coronavirus spread.

Gbadamosi was detained after being spotted in a viral video attending a birthday party organised by Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele-Bello; for her husband, Abdul-Rasheed Bello, held in Amen Estate, Ibeju-Lekki axis of the state.

It was gathered that the command detained Gbadamosi and also may not be released by the law enforcement agency for engaging in an act that was at variance with the law.

Gbadamosi had likewise issued an apology after partying with the Bello’s at their residence in Amen Estate; amidst the coronavirus outbreak.

Nigerians on social media had called on the Lagos State government to arrest popular Funke and her husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello; for disobeying both the State as well as the Federal government orders on Saturday by hosting an in-house party.

Reacting, the Lagos State Police Command, on Sunday night arrested the popular movie star.

The Force said its attention was drawn to a viral video showing a large number of persons; mainly in the entertainment industry in an Estate, along Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki axis, Lagos.

Gbadamosi, who was equally seen partying with the family, took to his Twitter account to upload a video; stating that he thought he was just going to see the Bello’s alone.

He said, ”Hello everyone my name is Babatunde Gbadamosi. I am making this video to apologize for the event that happened at the Bello’s residence yesterday at Amen estate.

”We went to visit Mr and Mrs Bello to celebrate Mr Bello’s birthday with him and we believed we were the only ones going to meet with the family and the staff at their home and that is exactly what happened.”
