The Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed A. Adamu has assured Zamfara State of Police determination to end all forms of criminality in the State.
Adamu arrived the State as part effort to end activities of armed bandits and other criminal elements.
The IGP was accompanied by the Director General Security Service Alhaji Yusuf Magaji Bichi, Director General National Intelligence Agency Alhaji Rufai Ahmed, DIG Force intelligence Department, Ibrahim Lamorde, Chief of Defence Intelligence AVM Mohammed Sani Usman, Force Public Relations Officer DCP Frank Mba among others.
During the visit to the State, the IGP paid a courtesy call on His Royal Highness the Emir of Gusau Alhaji Ibrahim Bello, where he told the Emir that, the visit is in compliance with the President Mohammadu Buhari’s directives to end the lingering security challenges bedeviling the country and north in particular.
The IGP further paid similar visits to His Excellency the Executive Governor of Zamfara State Dr. Mohammed Bello Matawalle.
The IGP informed the Governor of the purpose of the visit which emanated from the Presidential matching order to bring to an end all forms of criminal activities in the north west and country in general.
He also sought the support and cooperation of all the stakeholders in the quest to end the menace.
In their separate remarks, the Governor and the Emir expressed gladness for the visit and vowed to support the security agencies in their determination to overcome the security challenges in the state.
Earlier, the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara state Command CP Usman Nagogo supported by heads of Zamfara State security agencies recieved the IGP and his entourage at helipad situated around the official Quarters of the Commissioner of Police.
