Police In Anambra Bursts Robbery Syndicate, Recover Firearms

The Police in Anambra has smatched a robbery syndicate.

According to spokesman of the Command, SP Haruna Mohammed, “Following complaints of incessant blockage of Isiagu road Awka, Puff-Adder opetatives in conjunction with the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) while acting on intelligence arrested the following suspects, (i) Ikechukwu Ani ‘m’ aged 27years of Nkwelle, Awka. (ii) Ifeanyi Wisdom ‘m’ aged 26years of Nkwelle Village Awka, and, (iii) Daniel Obaru ‘m’ aged 28 years of Emma Nnaemeka Street Umudioka,Awka. The trio at about 7:45pm of same date allegedly waylaid and robbed one Uyana Ikechukwu ‘m’ cash sum of Forty five thousand naira (#45′,000) and other valuables at gunpoint. Exhibits recovered in their possession includes two motorcycles, one tricycle, machete, one locally made shotgun and cash sum of #45,000 snatched from the victim were recovered from the suspects, said Mohammed .

He said the suspects confessed to the crime and case is under investigation after which they would be charged to Court for prosecution.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police CP John B.Abang, has reassured Ndi Anambra that the Command under his watch will continue make Anambra State unbearable to the criminal elements until they repent or relocate from the State.
