Pursuant to the Presidential directive on the emplacement of curfew between 20:00 to 06:00, the
The Sokoto State Joint Security Task Force led by the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Ibrahim S. Kaoje, in enforcement of federal government imposed curfew had between 05/5/2020 and 14/5/2020 arrested a total of one hundred and fifty-five (155) suspects who violated the curfew on COVID-19 pandemic and sixty three (63) vehicles /motor cycles were also impounded.
Meanwhile, all cases were discreetly investigated as directed by the CP before being charged to court.
The CP reiterates that the Command is determined to enforce the curfew order to the latter and will therefore not hesitate to arrest and prosecute any individual or group of persons found violating the order.
Ka’oje enjoined the people of Sokoto State to embrace compliance with the safety advisories issued by authorized agencies and remain obedient to the night curfew directive, as it is in the interest of the State to contain the spread of the virus.
