The Nigeria Police has denied knowledge of extradition request with regard to allegations against Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Mr Abba Kyari.
Kyari, was accused of being a conspirator in a $1.1-million fraud deal involving Instagram celebrity Ramon Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, who commented on this said he has not received a formal extradition request for Kyari following his indictment by a US Court.
Baba, on Thursday, October 28, claimed he had only heard it on social media but there was no extradition request sent to him as some have reported.
The IGP further explained that the panel constituted to investigate the case has submitted its report to the Secretary-General of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha for advice.
He added that the Force has only just received feedback from the SGF; and is contemplating the next step to take.
