The Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu
has visited Ajah/Ilaje warring communities with a vows to end conflict and restore lasting peace in the area.
“The Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Zubairu Muazu in company of other senior Police Officers visited Ajah and Ilaje communities for on the spot assessment of the crisis prone areas”
“The CP had an indept discussion with Leaders of the two warring factions” DSP Bala Elkana, said in a statement.
The CP was taken round the areas mostly prone to crises and agreed on a buffer zone. A detachment of Mobile Policemen was immediately drafted to the communities for peace and confidence building.
The Commissioner of Police called on the people to eschew violence and avoid rumour mongering.
He urged the people to be vigilant and report suspicious movements and persons to the police. He vowed to unleash the full weight of the law on any person or group of persons bend on breaching the peace of the communities.
Leaders of the two warring communities applauded the steps taken by the Commissioner of Police in restoring lasting peace to the communities and promise to support the peace building initiatives. They called on their followers to give peace a chance.
