A popular Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi, is leading others to protest against the continued detention of a fellow actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha.
Baba Ijesha was arrested based on allegation of child molestation.
Fabiyi, who has been clamouring for the release of the embattled comedian led the protest from Casino Bus Stop to Panti Police Station on Wednesday.
He said the suspect should be released on bail and charged to court rather than keeping him perpetually in police custody.
He described Omiyinka’s incaceration as illegal while calling on the police to release without further delay.
While Fabiyi is advocating release of Baba Ijesha, a female actor, Iyabo Ojo has consistently called for maximum punishment for the suspect.
Fabiyi on Tuesday claimed that the alleged victim was not a child but an adult.
He also said that the ‘girl’ was impregnated by someone close to Princess ( the comedian who reported the case to the police), saying the person had been arrested and was in police custody.
