Most Rev. Dr. Ayo-Maria Atoyebi has reminded the people to keep in mind the reasons for celebrations of the Christmas as explained that the first reason is the great mystery of the word that became human person.
He said, it happened as expressed during the incarnation: “For God so much loved the world that the gave His only son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life “John Charpter 3 verse 16.
“The second reason for our joyful celebration,” he said, “is to appreciate the reason why God gave us His son. In his “marvelous love for us he gave him to us to be the sacrifice for our reconciliation with Him.”
He said that wonders of wonders surrounded the birth of Jesus because he is “A child born to us and he will be our ruler. He will be called ‘Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father,, Prince of Peace”
The Emeritus Bishop of Ilorin Diocese added that the recipe for getting over the ominous cloud hovering over Nigeria is to be with the Prince of peace. “He is the answer to the worsening situation of security challenges, clashes between herdsmen and famers through assiduous Prayer. “You can do nothing without me” John Charpter 15 verse 5
He said the New born Prince of Peace can save us from the impeding catastrophe.
While wishing Nigerians Merry Christmas and a happy New Year, he enjoined all faithful to invite Jesus to their individual hearts and families, describing Him as the nucleus of the society.
“Let us sincerely invite Him to our country to enable Him, the Prince of Peace, give us the most desired peace,” he concluded.
