The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has warned Nigerians about the failure to adhere to the eased lockdown guidelines, adding that a review or complete change may be revisited; completely dependent on results going forward.
The PTF, National Coordinator, Dr. Sani Aliyu, stated this during the daily briefing on Thursday.
According to to him, “Our modelling shows that the positive effects of full compliance with the eased lockdown will be very similar to the effect of a full lockdown. This is why we need everyone to fully comply with all the guidelines issued.
“Please respect and follow all the guidelines we have instituted. If we continue to see violations of these guidelines; we will be pushed to review and possibly change them,”.
Following the relaxation of a five-week lockdown on Monday, May 4, there have been rowdy scenes everywhere; especially at banks as well as other financial institutions.
Customers in Lagos and also Abuja, have been seen violating the set guidelines; which includes social distancing and use of face masks at public places.
