Ruzu Natural Health Products at the weekend celebrated ten years of operations in Nigeria business environment even in the face of harsh economic situation.
Speaking at the occasion, MD/CEO of the firm, Mr. Robert Onyemaechi Uzu, said Ruzu Natural Health Products was incorporated on 12th November, 2007 with the objective of creating a forum where those who have lost hope in health and are in financial dismay can boast of good health and financial freedom.
“We were determined to make difference and it was on this basis that Ruzu Natural Health Products and Services was established. The business started with a capital base of N2,500 and started production in a room apartment and I personally sold the product in buses popularly called Molue for four (4) years. At some point the factory was shut down by National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) because of poor Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) together with my house and my family and I had to sleep outside for one month. On daily basis we faced countless challenges in the hands of police and other security agencies of the government”. He stated
Over the years, we have improved our quality of production tremendously. Our factory is thoroughly equipped with the state of machines for processing all our drugs which are produced under strict hygienic conditions. From a mono-product to Ruzu range of products, all certified by the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
We currently have over fifty (50) employees with an average age of 25 years from the six geo-political zones of the federation. I still see that our processes can be improved much further because we have loyal, qualified, experienced and dedicated staffs who have passion for what they are doing. As part of social responsibility, we have been able to give back to society part of our gains. The company actively got involved in the provision of charity to Nigerians irrespective of their state of origin. It embarked on various projects to alleviate the sufferings and hardship experienced by many families. For this reason, we instituted “Ruzu Operation Go to School” with the sole objective of sending the less privileged to school. The project cuts across all the levels of learning on a full scale scholarship and we currently have about 30 beneficiaries. We recently initiated “Operation Go to School” in Ebu Primary School, Umuebu, in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State. The company will be responsible for all the writing materials for the pupils throughout their stay in the School for 6 years. We hope to extend it to other schools in the state in the nearest future.
The company is also actively involved in Community Development Projects and this includes: provision of treated water, construction of converts and drainage, provision of street lights all at the company’s neighborhood. The company also extended this kind gesture at Umuebu Community in Ukwuani local government area of Delta State where the community electricity was restored. Another community project embarked upon by the company was provision of gifts items to orphanages in Lagos State and it has come to stay as part of the company’s policies.
According to the chairman of the occasion during the book launch of “Natures Gift” a book that was put together to provide herbal solutions to human health challenges. Chief Johnson Ossai Opne, Ruzu needs Bank of Industry’s support, and federal government should also supports the brand. He sated further that funds that would be generated from the book launch will be channeled to “Ruzu Operation Go to School and Community Development projects”. He said
