The Lagos State Government has at the weekend denied reports that the Government is planing to abolish all Eze Ndigbo titles in the State describing the reports doing the rounds as “April Fool.”

The rebuttal came following viral social media reports earlier in the day that the administration of Babajide Sanwo-Olu has abolished Eze Ndigbo titles in Lagos.

This came after the arrest of Fredrick Nwajagu, the Eze Ndigbo, Ajao Estate of the State after releasing a video calling for an invasion of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) into Lagos for the protection of Igbo people and their properties across the state.

Nwajagu is presently in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Reacting to the purported abolishment of all Eze Ndigbo titles in Lagos, the State’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, debunked it.

“It seems like April fool. Let’s ignore now,” Omotosho said.
