The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife on Thursday visited Mgbuka Obosi market, a popular auto-spare parts market in Obosi, Idemili North local government area of Anambra State to commiserate with the victims of the recent fire incident that affected over 300 shops in the market.
Addressing traders in the market, Ekwunife urged the victims of the incident to take heart over the unfortunate incident which cut-off the economic means of many shop owners. She sympathized with the traders over the death of one of them as a result of the incident, said Kingsley Ubani special assistant Media to Senator Uche Ekwunife, in a statement.
Speaking she said: “I was outside the country on a technology conference when the unfortunate incident happened, and had to come immediately on my return to sympathize with you, and make a humble donation to support the victims”.
Reacting to Senator Ekwunife’s visit, the Chairman of the market, Mr Samuel Ezenwobodo thanked the Senator for coming to their aid at this time of grief. He noted that the fire incident affected about 600 victims and over 300 shops.
Speaking further, Mr Ezenwobodo appreciated the Senator for being a worthy representative and a strong voice in the Senate. He urged her to continue in her efforts of defending the interest of the Senatorial zone and Ndigbo in general.
