Senator Ekwunife Hosts Anambra State PDP LG, Ward Chairmen

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District and a frontline Governorship Aspirant for the 2021 Governorship election, Senator Uche Ekwunife  on Saturday met with the Local Governments and Wards Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to Kingsley Ubani , SA Media to Senator Uche Ekwunife, the meeting was in line with her aspiration to contest the 2021 Governorship election under the platform of the party.

Addressing the party Local Government and Ward Leaders, Senator Ekwunife stressed the need for executives of the party to reach out to stakeholders in their wards and local governments to assist in strengthening the party structure within their domains.

She noted that the current spate of litigations that are currently threatening the peace and unity of the party is not in the party’s best interest, and called on party stakeholders to come together to dialogue in order to maintain a homogenous PDP during and after the upcoming governorship election.

Speaking further, Ekwunife reiterated that her interest in next year’s Governorship election is borne out of her commitment to inject a breath of fresh air in the governance of the State. She noted that her experiences and political exposure put her in a better position to clinch electoral victory for the party in the guber election and go ahead to improve the lives of the people of the State.

While appreciating her guests for their unwavering devotion to the party, Senator Ekwunife restated her desire to work with the current party leadership structure in the State as presently recongnized by the party hierachy.

She stated that changing the current party leadership structure will not confer any real advantage on any aspirant, and urged party delegates to choose a candidate who has the capacity, experience and pedigree to win the election for the party.

The Chairmen appreciated the Senator for hosting them. They expressed their desire to work assiduously to promote the interest of the party in their Local Governments and Wards.
