The Sokoto State Police Command has killed two suspected criminals as they made their way to escape.
According to spokesman of the Command, ASP Muhammad A. Sadiq, “On 22/05/2020 information received from Sabon Birni Police Division reveals that at about 0745hrs the Divisional Patrol Team while on routine patrol along S/Birni – Garki village sighted two motorcyclists suspected to be armed bandits, whom were pursued and on reaching Garki village their motorcycle hit the pavement of the road and fell down, suddenly subjects opened fire on Patrol Team.”
Sadiq said that the Police in conjunction with the vigilantes swiftly responded to the attack, as a result the two bandits lost their lives.
Recovered from the bandits are one RPG with Breech No. M80 and one G3 Rifle with Breech No. 63660.
The corpses were evacuated to general hospital S/Birni for autopsy and investigation has commenced in earnest, said Sadiq.
The Commissioner of Police Sokoto, CP Ibrahim Sani Ka’oje has vowed to end banditry in the state while also soliciting stronger community partnership in Policing the State.
