The SPIE Global Services Energy Limited, has sustained its empowerment initiatives aimed at bringing new local talents into the country’s energy industry.

The firm said it is empowering local communities in Nigeria with technical training to enhance their employability in the energy sector.

The initiative, launched in 2024, is part of its commitment to developing local talents.

The Specialised Process and Maintenance Training Programme is delivered at SPIE’s training facility in Port Harcourt, which follows the OPITO International Technical Standards.

The programme blends theoretical and practical learning to equip participants with globally recognised skills.

The company said the 12-week programme targets two local communities—Andoni and Rebisi—with 40 participants across four batches, ensuring gender balancing with equal male and female representation in each group.

The Managing Director of SPIE Nigeria, Guillaume Niarfeix, said the initiative provides world-class training at no cost, enabling individuals to thrive in the oil and gas industry.

“By offering world-class training at no cost, we are equipping individuals with the skills they need to thrive in the oil and gas industry,” Niarfeix said.

He stated that each graduate receives a certificate upon completion, validating their competence and improving their employment prospects.

The company urged stakeholders and corporate bodies to collaborate in expanding the programme to more communities.
