The on-going New Sterling Plus Cash Reward Scheme has continued to produce more millionaires making the scheme a toast for the banks customers.

Just at the weekend, Mr. Abdullahi Haruna Babba from Kano and Mr. Umezinwa Philip Nonso from Lagos won N1 million (One Million Naira) each in the promo.

This brought to three the number of customers who have become millionaires through the Scheme.

Mr. Ereku Luck Torise and Mr. Tarinabo Allagoa also won N500,000 each at the draw attended by representatives from National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), Consumer Protection Council (CPC) and the Lagos State Lotteries Board (LSLB).

The customers were selected via an electronic raffle draw held at the corporate head office of the Bank in Lagos.

The New Sterling Plus Cash Reward Scheme was introduced by Sterling Bank Plc in  2015 in fulfillment of the Bank’s promise to reward customer loyalty, encourage saving culture among Nigerians and promote financial inclusion.

Mr. Umenzinwa Nonso in response commended the Bank for fulfilling its promise of rewarding customer loyalty adding that “this will remain memorable to me as long as l live as this will be a great support to my business”.

According to him, One can only imagine what is happening to me as this is a big surprise, in fact it can only be God. I found it very difficult to believe the news when l got a call from Sterling Bank that l won a Million Naira. In fact, l couldn’t rejoice, I was just calm.

I was still in doubt until this was reconfirmed to me when l got to my branch. All the same, l thank Sterling Bank for this gesture and assure that l will remain a good ambassador of the brand”.

To be part of the reward scheme, customers are required to maintain a minimum balance of N5,000 and to qualify for an electronic raffle (e-raffle) draw ticket while every additional N5,000  deposit increases the number of e-raffle draw tickets.

In his remarks, the Bank’s Group Head, Strategy & Communications, Mr. Shina Atilola explained that the New Sterling Plus is a hybrid offering with the promise of many goodies and freebies such as free Lenovo smartphones pre-loaded with cool financial and entertainment applications and cash rewards amongst others for individual customers.

Mr. Atilola described the product as the perfect solution for individuals interested in enjoying the benefits of both current and savings account offerings, without the associated cost of running a current account.

He added that customers with the New Sterling Plus will also be entitled to free cheque books, free debit cards and free alerts (SMS and e-mails) on their transactions adding  that 20 people would win N50,000 each every week while10 people would win N100,000 monthly.

“Two people to win N500,000 quarterly and one lucky individual to win N1 million on national holidays  (as declared by the federal government)”, he stated.

His words: “The product (New Sterling Plus) was developed after an extensive market research.

The needs of our existing and potential customers led to the development of this proposition which provides offerings suited for the banking needs of the generality of the Nigerian population.

It is part of the bank’s contribution to boost financial inclusion and to encourage savings in the country. The choice of gifts for customers, especially the free smartphones was in consideration of the increasing demand and use of mobile platforms in the Nigerian market”.
