The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has advised the factional President, National President National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agents (NCMDLCA), Lucky Amiwero to stop meddling in the affairs of Council for Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).

The association said Amiwero cannot be medling in the affair of a Council he never belonged to or has taken to court.

Recall that Amiwero In a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari said freight forwarding associations in the maritime industry cannot be member of board of the Council of Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).

Amiwero said the act setting up the council does not make provision for any members of freight forwarding associations to be on CRFFN board.

But, NAGAFF through a member of its technical Committee, Increase Uche said Amiwero had taken the Council to Court and failed.

“Amiwero is being mischievous by dabbling into issues bordering on an organization which he is not a member.

“This is the same council where he contested election and lost. He later took the same Council to Court and also failed. He has nothing to either gain or lose in the management of the body. He is an ordinary busy body, a meddlesome interloper, a cheap loser, and a man of no consequence.

“We advise he should first register with the Council before dabbling into CRFFN matters.
“Similarly, is it not absurd that Mr. Lucky should address such a letter to a CAC of a command instead of the Hon. Minister of Finance? This again shows his penchant at currying cheap favors and to fulfill his insatiable stomach infrastructure.”

“However for good reasons it is obvious that it may appear inconsequential and or meddlesome if your name is not in the register of freight forwarders of Nigeria to discuss it’s affairs.”

The association also disagreed with Amiwero that there is vacancy in the leadership of the Council.

“There are three categories of membership of CRFFN, the associations, individuals and corporate bodies, The membership of Management council of CRFFN are those individuals whose name are found in the register of freight forwarders of Nigeria duly elected at the freight forwarders congress.

“The Hon minister of transport is the supervisory chairman of the council with the sole authority to give direction and character in the proper management and administration of CRFFN Act, The management board of the CRFFN is properly constituted with the Minister, Registrar and other representatives from other organisations.

“At the moment, CRFFN is an Agency of the government and it is obvious that there is no vacuum in governance, NAGAFF, ANCLA, AREFFN, NCMDLCA and NAFFAC and associations and other corporate members are not members of the council.
“The CRFFN recognises and deal with the associations as strategic partners whose platform and members are under the control and regulations of CRFFN.”
