Summit University, Offa, Kwara State has secured international grant for its Artificial Intelligence for Women in Aquaculture (AI4WA) project.
Generously sponsored by the Gender and Responsible Artificial Intelligence Network (GRAIN) in Africa, this accomplishment underscores the institution’s unwavering dedication to innovative and socially conscious research.
In a momentous commencement meeting convened on August 15th, 2023, Professor Abiodun Musa Aibinu, Vice-Chancellor and principal investigator, lauded the research team’s unwavering dedication in meticulously crafting and successfully submitting the proposal.
While acknowledging this achievement as a significant milestone, he propelled them to set their sights higher, emphasizing that their journey toward transformative advancements has only just begun.
The heart of the project’s objective, eloquently delineated by Mrs. Mutiat Muhammed, assumes a pivotal role in reshaping the aquaculture landscape.
By harnessing the potency of Artificial Intelligence methodologies, the initiative remains steadfast in championing gender inclusivity.
Its fundamental purpose is to empower women within the aquaculture realm, equitably granting them access and opportunities in a domain historically dominated by males.

In unison, Summit University’s leadership, comprising the Ag. Registrar, Ag. Bursar, Ag. Director of Academic Planning, and the Public Relations Officer, extolled the collaborative efforts of the team encompassing both dedicated staff, research fellows and enthusiastic research students.
