Tauhid, Croplife Nigeria President Receives Award

The President, Croplife Nigeria(formerly Agrochemical Association of Nigeria), Alhaji Mahmood Usman Tauhid, has been honored with ‘Fellow of Nigerian Society for Plant Protection’ by the Nigerian Society for Plant Protection.

The event which was an integral part of the society’s 4th Annual Conference was held amidst pomp and pageantry at the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Southwest Nigeria. 

Mahmood’s experience as Crop Protection Specialist was garnered through his service days from Ciba-Geigy as Senior Agronomist to Novartis and later Sygenta, an expansive period during which he also gathered professional experience by interfacing with colleagues in Nigeria’s major agricultural research institutes including IAR, IAR&T, NCRI, NSPRI and NIHORT.

In 1999, he left Sygenta to form Miagro Limited which has presence in Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra-Leone, Gambia and lately Rwanda.

Apart from being the National President, Croplife Nigeria, he is also a member, Nigeria Society for Plant Protection, Weed Science Society of Nigeria as well as Entomological Society of Nigeria.
