The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said it is set to achieve a 5,000mega watts (MW) transmission ability from its network
The company during the week achieved a peak for power delivery of 4810.7MW .
In a statement signed by the General Manager (Public Affairs), Seun Olagunju, the new peak followed the 4748MW wheeled by the TCN network.
The Managing Director/CEO, TCN, Paul Stefiszyn, noted that “this sucess is a result of the gas companies, the generation companies, the distribution companies and TCN working together”.
Stefiszyn further said that “the Federal Government has been very supportive in coordinating activities across the value chain.
We are now aiming to achieve 5, 000MW in a short time, which obviously will be an important milestone for the Nigerian economy”.

This is good news for the people of Nigeria. My prayers is that capacity optimisation will continue. If many parts of Nigeria could enjoy stable power supply with 5000MW, one can imagine what would be the situation if 7000MW is generated.
