Fiscal reforms in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry will be part of major speaking engagements during this year’s energy summit that is scheduled to convene key Government functionaries and energy leaders.

The meeting is also expected to discuss the country’s Gas Master Plan 2026 initiative, that targets over $60 billion in new investment by 2030, Gas Investment Forum 2026 will spotlight the projects, infrastructure and partnerships shaping Nigeria’s emergence as Africa’s global gas powerhouse

The 4th edition of the Gas Investment Forum (GIF 2026) to hold in Lagos, bringing together government leaders, regulators, investors, financiers, energy companies, project developers, technology providers and industry professionals for two days of high-level dialogue on the investment and development opportunities shaping Nigeria’s gas economy.

Held under the theme “Positioning Nigeria as Africa’s Global Gas Powerhouse,” Gas Investment Forum 2026 comes at a critical stage in Nigeria’s ambition to translate its substantial natural gas resources into increased production, infrastructure development, industrial growth, energy security and sustainable economic value.

Nigeria’s gas reserves stood at 215.19 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) as of 1 January 2026, according to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), reinforcing the scale of the resource base available to support the country’s industrial and economic ambitions.

The 2026 Forum is convened in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Decade of Gas Initiative and the Nigerian Gas Association, bringing together key stakeholders across the gas value chain to examine the policies, projects, financing structures, infrastructure and partnerships required to move Nigeria’s gas agenda from ambition to execution.

A major focus of Gas Investment Forum 2026 will be the scale of investment required to unlock the sector. The Gas Master Plan 2026 targets increased national gas production to 10 billion cubic feet per day (BCF/D) by 2027 and 12 BCF/D by 2030, while seeking to catalyze over $60 billion in new investment across the oil and gas value chain by 2030.

Commenting on the Forum, Osaze Isesele, Director of Events, Gas Investment Forum, said:

“Nigeria has no shortage of gas resources or ambition. The defining question now is how quickly we can convert that resource base into bankable projects, reliable infrastructure, expanded supply and productive economic activity. Gas Investment Forum 2026 is designed around that execution challenge.

“We are bringing government, regulators, investors, financiers, operators, project developers and technical experts into the same room to examine where the opportunities are, what is required to unlock them, and how we can accelerate the partnerships and investment needed to build a more competitive Nigerian gas economy.”

The two-day programme will provide delegates with access to strategic policy discussions, investment opportunities, project insights, technical expertise and commercial perspectives across the gas value chain.

The Forum will also facilitate business networking and engagement among investors, project developers, financiers, technology providers, regulators and potential partners.

Among the senior leaders expected to headline Gas Investment Forum 2026 are H.E. Rt. Hon. Dr. Ekperikpe Obongemem Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Federal Republic of Nigeria; Engr. Yetunde Taiwo, President, Nigerian Gas Association; Ed Ubong, Coordinating Director, Decade of Gas; Andrea Stegher, President, International Gas Union (IGU); Enorense Amadasu, Executive Commissioner, Development and Production, Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC); and Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, Chairman, Senate Committee on Gas Resources, National Assembly, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Forum will also feature senior industry leaders including Olajumoke Cecilia Ajayi FNAPE, President, Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) and MD/CEO, West African Exploration and Production Company; Engr. Wole Ogunsanya, Chairman, Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN); and Paul Eardley-Taylor, Gas Sector Lead, Standard Bank Group, alongside other leading professionals across the sector.

The programme will cover upstream exploration and production, project execution, midstream and downstream infrastructure, gas commercialization, domestic utilization, LNG, LPG, CNG, gas-to-power, financing, local content and emerging subnational gas economies.

Key programme features include the Upstream Gas & Exploration Hotspot, in partnership with the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE); the Downstream & Midstream Gas Conversation, focused on expanding domestic gas markets and infrastructure; the Nigerian Content for Gas Symposium, in partnership with the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN); and the Gas Finance & Investors Pavilion, examining capital mobilization, project bankability and investment featuring finance and investment leaders.

The Executive Investment Showcase will spotlight projects and companies contributing to the development of Nigeria’s gas infrastructure and commercial ecosystem, while the Technical Workshop & Masterclass Series will provide practical insights into project development, technology, commercialization and investment across the sector.

The Forum will also feature an exhibition and structured networking programme designed to connect companies with investors, financiers, developers, policymakers, technology providers and prospective commercial partners.

The Gas Investment Leadership Awards will recognize companies and individuals making significant contributions to the development and transformation of Nigeria’s natural gas sector.

As Nigeria advances the objectives of its Decade of Gas, Gas Investment Forum 2026 will provide a platform for stakeholders to examine what it will take to increase gas supply, unlock infrastructure investment, strengthen domestic utilization, improve project bankability and position Nigeria more competitively within Africa’s growing gas economy.

Gas Investment Forum is a business and investment platform connecting policymakers, regulators, operators, investors, financiers, technical experts and businesses around Nigeria & Africa’s gas future.
