The six manifold modules built by TechnipFMC for Total’s Egina project have been successfully installed in the field located offshore Nigeria within OML 130.

They facilities were manufactured at the Aveon yard in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

TechnipFMC provides project management, engineering, procurement, and construction for Egina’s entire Subsea Production System (SPS) scope.

Construction began in December 2013 when the first steel cutting took place. The foundations of the manifold modules were then delivered in October 2016 and have been successfully installed.

“This milestone is the result of strong collaboration between Total, TechnipFMC and Aveon and extraordinary dedication from each team member involved in the Manifolds scope. It secures a major phase of the project, executed in a safe and secure manner”, commented Benoit Le Bihan, Egina Project Director at TechnipFMC.

Designed for water-depths of up to 1700 meters, Egina is one of the deepest offshore projects ever executed by Total. With a design life of 25 years, the field is expected to produce up to 200,000 barrels of oil per day, thus contributing up to 10 per cent of Nigeria’s oil output. It will be operated by Total Upstream Nigeria (24 per cent ) in partnership with NNPC, CNOOC, SAPETRO and PETROBRAS.
