The Lagos State Command has arrested one Amodu Azeez ‘male’.
He was arrested based on a complaint made by one Arinze Madeben ‘male’ that the suspect and two others at large blocked the complainant on a motorcycle, pointed a gun at the complainant and robbed him of his Nokia android phone and wallet containing the sum of twenty-seven thousand, two hundred and seventy naira.
He raised an alarm which attracted anti-robbery men on early morning patrol.
The armed robbery suspects were pursued and the ring leader, Azeez Amodu was arrested, while others escaped.
Spokesman of the Command Bala Elkana, stated that the stolen items were recovered from the suspect and that the motorcycle the suspects used for the robbery operation with registration number JBD 133 VY was recovered. Police also recovered a toy gun used by the suspects for the robbery.
Detectives are on the trail of the suspects at large, he said.
