Two local manufacturers have been issued with Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) by the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) for complying with applicable Nigerian Industrial Standards (NIS).
Jigawa office of the Organization issued the certificates to Hasinah Confectionery & Restaurant for its Sweetened Yoghurt and BSBG Shukurah Ventures for its Bread.
The Director-General/Chief Executive of SON, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke, represented by the Jigawa State Coordinator, Mr. Murtala Amiru, congratulated the manufacturers for meeting the requirements for MANCAP certification.
Amiru commended the companies for their commitment to quality, safety and consumer protection, stressing that MANCAP certification provides assurance that locally manufactured products conform to established standards.
He urged manufacturers to regard SON as a partner in sustainable industrial growth, noting that continuous compliance with standards would strengthen consumer confidence and enhance the competitiveness of locally produced goods.
The Managing Director of Hasinah Confectionery & Restaurant, Alhaji Hassan Hashim, and his counterpart at BSBG Shukurah Ventures, Alhaji Mustapha Adamu, appreciated SON for its technical guidance and support throughout the certification process.
They reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the required standards in their production processes.
Presenting the certificates, Amiru urged the two manufacturers to sustain the standards that earned them the certification.
A statement explained that the development further underscores SON’s commitment to supporting local manufacturers, promoting standards compliance and ensuring that products manufactured in Nigeria meet established Nigerian Industrial Standards.
