The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday, April 23; explained the reason for the sudden increase in the number of Coronavirus(COVID-19) cases recorded in Lagos in the last few days.

Sanwo-Olu made this revelation in response to a question at the statehouse in Marina.

He said that community testing employed by the state is causing the effect.

The Governor also disclosed that the “state is now testing people aggressively in different communities and it is expected that the more the increase in the number of people tested, the more cases will be recorded”.

Sanwo-Olu said the state is aware that the figures are ‘spiking’ and measures are being taken to combat the virus.
