Ikeja Electric has said it is under siege following labour unions protest.
The company said the poor services being experienced by customers within its network is because of the labour action.
The company denied its staff did not down tools but its facilities were barricaded by labour unions protesting over some issues.
It was reported that NUPENG vowed to disrupt activities of the company unless it reinstate about 400 sacked workers.
The company has also rendered apologies for power outage as labour picket its installations.
It said the labour action has resulted to the epileptic power supply across its network in the past three days.
The company’s Head of Corporate Communications, Felix Ofulue, said the poor service was due to the ongoing activities by the Labour Unions who are picketing the facilities of the company.
According to him, The staff of the company are not on strike, rather they have been prevented by the protesting Labour Unions from gaining access to the facilities and are therefore, not in a position to provide any consistent services to its valued customers.
This situation has impacted negatively on the power supply as well as purchase of recharge units because all the substations, Business Units and Undertakings have been taken over by the protesting Unions.
Ikeja Electric regrets all inconveniences these action may have caused its customers and appeals to all its customers to please bear with us. We assure that the company is doing its best to normalize the situation within the shortest possible time. We thank all our customers for their patience and understanding, Ofulue added.
