Nigerians have opposed the recent moves by the Federal Government to regulate the social media.
The opposition to the moves may spurn another round of protests, akin to the #EndSARS movement.
Already, a new hashtag #SayNoToSocialMediaBill has been floated on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.
The new hashtag is currently the number one trending topic on Twitter.
The agitations by Nigerians against the regulation of social media took another dimension after a meeting held by the Northern Governors’ Forum on Monday.
The Northern Governors had risen from its meeting to boldly back the moves to regulate social media usage in Nigeria.
Opposition to the moves had equally mounted after it emerged that the National Assembly is considering passing a Bill to regulate the usage of social media in Nigeria.
Subsequently, a number of Nigerians have taken to their respective handles on Twitter to lend their voices.
Also, a number of celebrities have weighed in on the controversial social media Bill.
