Zamfara Police operatives attached to “Operations Puff Adder” acting on credible information have arrested three suspects in commercial Vehicle Golf at Lalan Bus Stop, Gusau on their way from Maradun LGA to Kogi state.
Four locally fabricated guns, cutlasses and Axe were recovered in their possession.
In the course of interrogation, they mentioned that they were Hunters and have been in Hunting business for over a decade.
Discreet investigation is in progress with a view to authenticating the genuineness of their business, the Police said.
According to SP Mohammed Shehu, Police Public Relation Officer in the State, the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution for illegal possession of Firearms and their failure to surrender them to the police despite several warning made on various media platforms.
The Command further warned that any person or group of persons having such arms and ammunition in his or their possession should surrender them to any nearest police station or face dare consequences.
Shehu gave names of the arrested persons as Mohammed Nagoda “M” 60 years old, Sule Danhaki “M” 50 yrs old and Danladi Yahaya “M” 35 yrs old.
