The Police in Zamfara have bursted a facility used by cultists and made seizure of fetish items.

Briefing journalists on the increasing cases of cultism in the state, the Commissioner of Police, CP Usman Nagogo, said that it is a known fact, Zamfara has been bedeviled by some people of devilish characters who are bent on either desecrating the Holy Qur’an or burning of cemeteries for their own worldly selfish ends.

According to Nagogo, “Today we are witnessing another trend of these cultists and their nefarious activities.”

Nagogo said, “On 6th April, 2020 the Police received a credible information that some people were planning some evil machinations against some of the leaders of the state by using unorthodox means to achieve their ill-conceived agenda.

The information had it that a house in Unguwar Dallatu, bayan tsahs has become a sort of worry to the inhabitants of the area.

“They decided to pass the information which puzzled many people and one of the assertion they made was that the place has become a shrine where whenever the evil doers enter the house all sort of living creatures such as lizard and ants will die. Nobody has access to the house except the participants. ”

The patrol team he said, rushed to the scene and on sighting the head light of the vehicle, two (2) suspects engaged in the incantation took to flight and escaped.

During a search, Police the following exhibits were recovered in the premises of the house.

They include a pot with many niddles inscript into it, an ordinary pot with water and rosary encircled into it, a calabash full of blood, an open pot with some local powder medicines into it, a local cattle designed like helmet with Arabic inscription into it, a local stuff with charcoal and scents pour into it, a polyethylene bag containing cloths of many colours and a design of human skeleton and a double foolscap paper containing names of many political leaders in the state

Investigation into the matter is in progress and the general public will be informed of any progress achieved on the cause of this investigation, the Commissioner assured.
