The Zamfara State Police Command acting on the orders the state Government will enforce ban on all meetings, processions and other forms of gathering in the state.
The action is also in line with inspector General of Police IGP Mohammed A. Abubakar directive to all Command CPs to enforce all orders made by Government relating to control of the Coronavirus disease
The ban also includes all forms of schools including Arabic Islamiya with immediate effect.
“Therefore, Area Commanders and DPOs are directed to work hand in hand with their Local Government Chairmen and other security agencies of their respective areas to ensure that any gathering of more than twenty (20) people is banned until further notice.
All security agencies in the state are also directed to ensure strict compliance of the directive. The Chairmen of the local government are to enlighten their people to comply with this directive.
Area Commanders, DPOs and other Investigation Until Commanders are directed to decongest their detention facilities, except high profile criminals who were arrested for offences of armed Banditry, Armed Robbery, kidnapping, Murder and other offences of this nature who are still undergoing investigation.” the Command said in a statement.
