Global Ranking: 32nd placed Alex Ekwueme varsity mulls modalities for greater academic excellence - Realnews Magazine

Prof. Sunday Elom, Vice-Chancellor, Alex Ekwueme Federal University (AE-FUNAI), Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi state, has assured of adequate modalities and facilities for greater academic excellence in the institution.

Elom, who gave the assurance in a statement issued to reporters in Abakaliki, on Saturday, by the institution’s spokesman, Mr Ikechukwu Ubochi, noted that the school had ranked 32 out 167 universities in Nigeria, on the quality of scientists, in the recent global ranking of universities.

In the 2021 university ranking released by a leading global ranking body based in Turkey, AD Scientific Index, the Vice-chancellor  stated that AE-FUNAI emerged 32, ahead of several older Nigerian universities.

“The ranking, which covered private, state and federal universities in Nigeria, also revealed that AE-FUNAI emerged second out of all the universities established in Nigeria from 2011 and beyond.

“Available records show that our University has also being doing well in the yearly and bi-annual rankings of other global bodies such as Webometrics.

“In the past 10 years of its establishment, AE-FUNAI has been making steady progress in the quality of its academic activities which has boosted her national and global visibility.

“We will continue to push harder to put in place all the necessary modalities and facilities that are needed to make the University attain excellence,” Elom said. (NAN)
