The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife is in the news again as another lecturer is exposed in student-lecturer sex scandal.

The suspect, Monday Omoetan, identified as the lecturer in the midst of the scandal, is a member of staff of the Department of Chemistry; and also teaches at OAU Centre for Distant Learning, CDL, Moro Campus.

Information reveal that many individuals have reached out to the victim, who happens to be a JUBEB student of the CDL.

The student, whose identity has been made public had mistakenly sent her nude photo to a WhatsApp group. The lecturer, Omoetan, was also a member of the WhatsApp group. Subsequently, the picture went viral which made the lecturer reach out to her.

It was learnt that she recently had surgery on her bosom and was supposed to send the video to her best friend; but her bad phone was hanging and mistakenly got sent to the group chat.

However, Omoetan got hold of the video and messaged her instantly; at first, reprimanding her but later, it turned to something extra.

The lecturer invited her into the office and requested they had sex which she rejected; because she was on her period, which led him to request a blowjob.

He further confiscated her phones to check if she wasn’t recording their conversation.

After lustfully and forcefully having his way with her; he ejaculated in her mouth and made her swallow it before leaving her to go to her room.

On getting to her room, she narrated the incident to her friend, named Feyi; who got infuriated and schemed with her to get him to speak by himself and record him, hence the audios.

Also, the girl was irritated and scared as she said she had never done such before, also she was vomiting severely and had the thought she was pregnant already.

The man was called several times before he tried to comfort her which led to the recorded conversations.

The authorities of OAU are said to be investigating the scandal, presently.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the University, Abiodun Olanrewaju, has disclosed that the lecturer has been suspended.

Further, he revealed that he has been handed over to the Police for prosecution.

This was disclosed in a press statement made available to newsmen.

“Less than three weeks after the Management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, expressed her zero-tolerance against sexual harassment by investigating and suspending a lecturer of the Department of International Relations, Mr. Olabisi Olaleye, the University has suspended a staff of the University’s Centre for Distance Learning for sexually molesting 19 years old female student.

The University has also handed over the Tutor, Mr. Monday Omo – Etan, to the Police.
